Privacy policy

This site collects what you choose to send us, what any web server records to stay running, and statistics about visits. This page says what that is, who touches it, and how long it stays.

Effective date: October 14, 2026

What we collect

Contact form. When you submit the form on the contact page we receive the name, email address, company, project description, screen estimate, and notes you enter, and the date and time you sent them. The form runs in our own cloud account: it checks the message, queues it, and emails it to our inbox. A message waits in the queue only until it is emailed, or up to 14 days if delivery keeps failing. A message that looks automated is set aside instead, in case a real one was misjudged, and is deleted automatically after 30 days. The form's operational logs record whether each message was delivered, not what it said, and are kept for three months.

Server logs. This site keeps no access logs of its own. The content delivery network that serves it may hold short-lived operational logs (request time, IP address, browser) under its provider's own terms.

Cookies and analytics. This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages are read and how people found the site. It sets first-party cookies (named _ga) so a returning browser can be told apart from a new one, and records the pages viewed, the referring site, and your device type and approximate location, which Google works out from your IP address without storing it. Google signals, advertising features, and sharing the data for Google's own purposes are all turned off. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, the analytics script never loads. Google describes what it does with this data in how Google uses information from sites that use its services. This site runs no advertising scripts. The pricing calculator stores your screen counts in the page address so you can share a link; nothing is sent to us until you submit a form.

Why we use it

To reply to your inquiry, to prepare a proposal, and, if you become a client, to run the engagement. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising. We do not add you to a mailing list.

Who processes it

  • Amazon Web Services hosts this website, delivers it through its content delivery network, runs the contact form, and sends each message to our inbox through Amazon Simple Email Service.
  • Google Workspace hosts the mailbox where your message lands and where we reply from.
  • Google Analytics measures visits to this site and keeps the detailed visit records for two months.
  • Google reCAPTCHA screens the contact form for automated submissions. To do so it collects information about your browser and device, including your IP address, under Google's privacy policy.

How long we keep it

Inquiries that do not lead to a project are deleted within 24 months. Information tied to a client engagement is kept for the length of the engagement and as long as tax and contract records require afterward.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@lathesoftware.com and we will respond within 30 days. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, this site does not load Google Analytics. You can also block Google Analytics on every site with Google's opt-out add-on.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it. Material changes will be noted on this page for 30 days.
